…online dating minus ugly people

From Darwin Dating:

Dear Jason,

Welcome to the harsh reality of life, you are not attractive enough to make it onto Darwin Dating and probably aren’t very attractive, period!

There are plenty of other ugly people out there and we have proof. Many people who have applied for membership have been rejected. ‘Successful’ people like Russell Crowe, George W. Bush, Venus and Serena Williams and Margaret Thatcher would never have been made members, so maybe there is still some hope for you.

There are plenty of products out there that may help reduce your ugliness. Try a few of these: hair gel, contact lenses, soap.

All the best with your ugliness!

Our ethics… June 12, 2006

Filed under: Complaints — darwindating @ 9:12 am

We received a delightful message from “Harry” via email today.

Judging from his email, we think that Harry probably isn’t the best looking, but likes to think of himself as a pseudo intellectual:

Your ethics are ugly. So by definition, you shouldn’t be allowed on this site. And given that you can’t or don’t see this contradiction, you must also lack a keen and critical intelligence. Think about your life.

We like trading some “I’m-a-beautiful-person-on-the-inside” banter as much as the next person, however Harry’s email sounds like sour-grapes to me. Don’t worry Harry, there are lots of fish in the sea! Keep the old chin up.

What do you think? Is Darwin Dating ethical?

Fishnets … they’re okay

Filed under: Complaints — darwindating @ 1:35 am

We have received our first real complaint! To tell you the truth, we were overjoyed to receive it. It came from Leah. She said:

I myself am a very pretty girl, so I was slightly offended by the fact that you listed fishnet stockings as a bad thing. As a great fan of Burlesque and Moulin Rouge-type style (I’m no goth), I’m just emailing you to tell you that fishnet stockings can be perfectly lovely if worn the right way.

I must say, I tend to agree. We will remove fishnets from the banned list. For better or worse, they are quite fashionable at the moment; and I guess, if you are beautiful, fishnets will always look good on you!

Leah, thanks for taking the time to write to us. Please feel free to send other criticisms of the banned list our way.

I should say, about the banned list, it is quite tongue-in-cheek. We actually weren’t thinking it would be taken seriously. The moral of the story is that, if you are hot, please join up and share your beauty with other members!
